Outdoor digital totems from Totem Digital Romania are engineered to operate in demanding environments. Each unit carries an IP65 protection rating, making it fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. Forced ventilation combined with an integrated air conditioning module ensures stable operation across an extreme temperature range of -20°C to 50°C, keeping the internal electronics safe whether the unit is deployed in freezing winter conditions or direct summer sunlight.
Interventions on totemdigital.ro equipment must be performed only by personnel authorised in advance by Totem Digital Romania. Non-compliance will automatically result in the loss of warranty.

Outdoor Technical Specifications

Air Conditioning Module

The integrated A/C module manages the internal temperature automatically, without requiring manual intervention during daily operation.
  • Automatic operation — the module activates and deactivates based on real-time internal temperature readings.
  • Integrated thermostat — maintains the optimal temperature range required for reliable long-term operation of all electronic components.
  • Summer cooling — efficient refrigerant-based cooling prevents overheating during high-ambient-temperature periods and in direct sunlight.
  • Winter heating — the heating cycle ensures the unit continues to operate correctly at sub-zero temperatures.
Do NOT start the air conditioning module if the system does not contain refrigerant. Operating the compressor without refrigerant will cause irreparable damage to the compressor and will void the warranty immediately.
For installation, parameters, alarms and maintenance of the module, see the Air conditioning module manual.

Outdoor Equipment Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure you have reviewed the foundation dimensions provided by Totem Digital Romania and that all required tools and fixings are available on-site.
1

Foundation Preparation

Prepare a perfectly flat, level concrete surface at the installation site. Floor-mounted outdoor totems require a solid concrete foundation — Totem Digital Romania provides the exact dimensions and load specifications for the foundation as part of the project documentation.
2

Base Installation

The base unit is supplied separately from the main body and must be mounted to the foundation first. Position the base on the cured concrete surface and secure it using the concrete fastening screws included in the package.
3

Cable Preparation

Before positioning the main body, pull all required cables through the conduit tube running through the centre of the foundation. The tube should carry:
  • 220V AC power cable for mains supply
  • UTP network cable for connectivity
  • Condensate drain outlet (required on models equipped with air conditioning)
4

Main Body Mounting

Lower the main totem body onto the installed base, aligning the fixing points carefully. Once correctly positioned, secure the body to the base using the provided screws, tightening from inside the equipment enclosure.
5

Using the Lifting Ears

Heavy outdoor totems are supplied with metal lifting ears attached to the top of the unit. Use an appropriate lifting device (crane, forklift, or hoist) in conjunction with these ears to manoeuvre the body safely into position. Once the unit is secured to the base, detach the lifting ears and store them safely — you will need them again if the totem is ever relocated.
