The mounting steps below are a general guide. Exact anchor dimensions and the start-up procedure are confirmed by the installation team for each model.
Choosing the location
- Direct sunlight: choose a spot where the solar panel gets sun for most of the day, without shade from buildings or trees.
- Flat, stable surface: concrete or paving able to carry the weight of the bin (50 kg, 105 kg or 150 kg, depending on the model).
- Access for emptying: leave free space in front of the doors so they open fully and bags can be removed.
- Space for the sensor: keep the area in front of the automated compartment clear, so fixed objects or passers-by do not trigger the presence sensor.
- 4G signal: if you ordered 4G monitoring, check mobile coverage at the location.
Mounting
1
Prepare the surface
Clean and level the mounting area. For permanent installations in public spaces, a concrete foundation or slab is recommended.
2
Position the bin
Place the bin with the solar panel facing south (in the northern hemisphere) for maximum charging.
3
Anchor to the floor
Fix the bin to the ground through the floor bracket, using plugs or anchors suited to the surface. Anchoring prevents tipping and theft.
4
Fit the bags
Open the service door and fit the bag or inner liner in each compartment.
First start-up
1
Power on
The installation team switches on power from the internal battery. Check that the LED lighting turns on.
2
Test the sensor
Walk up to the automated compartment and check that the door opens, then closes by itself after you move away.
3
Check the indicators
The status indicator should show the bin as available (blue on WYC models, green on the TPV2209).
4
Connectivity (optional)
If you have the 4G module, insert a SIM card (not included) and check that data reaches the monitoring system.
