# 4G routers and LED remote for Totem Digital smart benches

> Set up the two 4G routers of Totem Digital smart benches, configure the APN for internet access and use the touch remote to control the RGB LED strip.

Totem Digital smart benches use two 4G routers (one for the sensor monitoring platform, one for the local hotspot) and an RGB LED strip controlled by a remote. This page shows how to set up the internet router and how to use the remote.

## The 4G routers

Each router needs its own SIM card. Router models may vary depending on the bench model.

## Router setup

To get the router working, follow these steps:

    Insert the SIM card into the router.

  <Step title="Find the router network">
    With a mobile phone, tablet, etc., search for its network.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect to the network">
    Connect to this network (the connection password is printed on the product label).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the router interface">
    Browse to the gateway IP address received when connecting.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Log in">
    Enter the user and password (printed on the router label).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the APN settings">
    Go to **Network Settings > APN**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the APN">
    Add the APN of the SIM card's mobile network. For example, for a Digi SIM: Profile Name `digi`, APN `internet`, mcc `226`, mnc `05`, Authentication `NONE`, Connect mode `IPV4`.

  <Step title="Check the connection">
    Confirm the internet connection by checking the internet icon (globe with arrows) in the corner of the interface. It turns green on success.

## Using the remote to control the LED strip

The LED strip works according to the twilight sensor configuration, only while **outdoor light is low**.

The twilight sensor can be configured so the LED strip runs continuously, or for a limited time when motion is detected.

Use the remote from the package to control the bench's RGB strip:

* Insert two AAA batteries (not included) into the remote.
* Change the LED controller functions by touching them with your finger, as shown in the table below.
* Do not move more than 30 m away from the bench.
